OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Shannon Manning, Bridgewater State
(Senior, Midfield - Framingham, MA)
Manning tallied nine goals and 11 assists for 20 points in a
perfect 2-0 week for the Bears with wins over Plymouth State
University and Elms College. She also notched five ground balls,
eight draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers. Manning
registered four goals, three assists and four draw controls in
BSC's 20-8 victory over Plymouth State. She then tallied a school
record-tying 13 points on five goals and eight assists while also
recording four ground balls, four draw controls and two caused
turnovers in the Bears' record-setting 26-1 NEWLA win over Elms.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Abbie Brown, Fitchburg State
(Fr, G - Westwood, Mass.)
Brown earned a pair of victories in a 2-0 week for the Falcons.
The freshman goalkeeper registered 12 saves in a 18-9 win over
UMass Dartmouth, while also posting 12 stops with five groundballs
and three caused turnovers in a 14-11 win over Worcester State.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Jamie Kelley, Fitchburg State
(Fr, A - Pepperell, Mass.)
In a 2-0 week for the Falcons, Kelley tallied nine groundballs,
eight draw controls and one caused turnover. In addition, she added
eight points offensively with four goals and four assists. Totaled
seven points in a 18-9 win over UMass Dartmouth with three goals
and four helpers, while adding one score in a 14-11 win over
Worcester State.
