CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Shannon Manning, Bridgewater State
College
(Senior, Midfield - Framingham, MA)
Manning recorded eight goals and 14 assists for 22 points in a
perfect 3-0 week for the Bears which included NEWLA wins over
Westfield State and Framingham State and a key non-conference
victory over Eastern Connecticut State. She also added four ground
balls, 13 draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers. Manning
tallied eight points on three goals and five assists as well as two
ground balls, four draw controls and a caused turnover in BSC's
19-11 win over Westfield. She also notched three goals, two
assists, two ground balls and six draw controls in the Bears' 20-10
triumph over Eastern Connecticut. Manning capped off the week with
a nine-point performance on two goals and seven assists in
Bridgewater's 23-12 conference victory over Framingham State. She
set the Bears' single-season scoring record and assist record in
the win over the Rams as well as BSC's career assist mark.
Emily Swan, Fitchburg State
(Sr, A - Franklin, Mass.)
In a 2-0 week for the Falcons, Swan tallied 14 points with seven
goals and seven assist. Broke the NCAA Divison III record with the
fastest goal scored (:06) in a four goal, three assist effort
against Becker, while totaling three scores and four helpers in a
12-9 win over Framingham State.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Meghan Griffin, Bridgewater State
College
(Senior, Goaltender - Billerica, MA)
Griffin went 3-0 between the pipes for the Bears last week with 19
saves, five ground balls and a 10.00 goals against average. Griffin
made seven saves in BSC's 19-11 NEWLA win over Westfield State,
eight saves in the Bears' 20-10 victory over Eastern Connecticut,
and four saves (in one half of play) in Bridgewater's 23-12 triumph
over conference foe Framingham State. Griffin set the Bears' career
wins record in the win over Eastern Connecticut.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Jamie Kelley, Fitchburg State
(Fr, M - Pepperell, Mass.)
In a 2-0 week for the Falcons, Kelley registered seven points on
four goals and three assists. Also added ten groundballs, four draw
controls and four turnovers. Notched a two goal, two assist effort
with six groundballs and two DC's in a 12-9 win over Framingham,
while posting two makers and one dish in a 19-5 win over Becker.
