As the final week of the regular season concludes, the 2009 NEWLA playoff picture is shaping up. Seeding will be announced on Sunday, April 26.

The top four teams qualify for the NEWLA tournament. The top two seeds will host semifinal games on Wednesday, April 26. Winners will advance to the championship game on Saturday, May 2 hosted by the highest remaining seed.

Piviotal games this week include the matchup of the league's two unbeaten teams on Thursday when Castleton (5-0 NEWLA, 10-1 overall) travels to Bridgewater St. (4-0, 9-4).

Castleton will also meet Westfield St. (5-1, 11-4) on Saturday while Worcester St. (3-3, 6-5) travels to Elms (0-6, 1-12) in an effort to secure their spot.

Fitchburg St (2-3, 5-7), who is still in the playoff hunt, will need to defeat Thomas (1-5, 1-10) on Saturday and then knock off Bridgewater St. on Sunday, a game that was originally scheduled for Tuesday, April 21 but postponed due to weather.
