Framingham State Accepted into NEWLA Membership for 2010 Season

The New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance will be adding an eighth member beginning in the spring of 2010. Framingham State College's application for membership into the NEWLA was approved by the member athletic directors at their most recent meeting.

Framingham, which has sponsored varsity women's lacrosse since 2008, has played an independent schedule for the past two seasons competing against many NEWLA institutions.

"Framingham State College is honored to be a part of the New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance and grateful for the opportunity to compete as a member of a playing conference," said Director of Athletics Tom Kelley.

Founded in the Fall of 1998, the NEWLA is a single sport conference comprised of eight NCAA Division III institutions in New England. They are Becker College, Bridgewater State College, Castleton State College, Elms College, Fitchburg State College, Framingham State College, Westfield State College and Worcester State College.
