Norwich University to Join NEWLA in 2007

The New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance will be adding an eighth member beginning in the spring of 2007. Norwich University's application for membership into the NEWLA was approved by the member athletic directors at their most recent meeting. Norwich, which will sponsor a varsity program for the first time next season, will join the conference in the spring of 2007.

"Norwich University is thrilled to be a new member of the New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance starting in 2006-07," said Athletic Director Tony Mariano. "This alliance will provide Norwich with quality competition and post season opportunities, both which are important for our new program to grow and flourish. The members of this alliance are outstanding institutions and we are excited to be associated with them in women's lacrosse."

Founded in the Fall of 1998, the NEWLA is a single sport conference comprised of eight NCAA Division-III institutions in New England. They are Castleton State College, Elms College, Emerson College, Lasell College, Norwich University, Thomas College, Western New England College and Worcester State College.
