September 25, 2005 Modica Named New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance Sports Communication Coordinator Elms College Director of Athletics and NEWLA Commissioner Louise McCleary announced the appointment today of Robb Modica as the New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) Sports Communication Coordinator. Modica assumed his duties with the conference on September 1, 2005. As the Sports Communication Coordinator, Modica's primary responsibilities will include the design and maintenance of the conference web site, coordination of the Conference Player of the Week and post-season honors programs in addition to compilation of conference statistics and publicity of the NEWLA championship. A graduate of the University of Arizona, Modica most recently spent three years as the Assistant Director for Conference Operations with the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) where he was responsible for planning, developing, and conducting public information activities, including press releases and maintenance of the conference web site. Currently, Modica serves as the Sports Communication Coordinator for the North Atlantic Conference (NAC). Founded in the Fall of 1998, the NEWLA is a single sport conference comprised of eight NCAA Division-III institutions in New England. They are Castleton State College, Elms College, Emerson College, Lasell College, Norwich University, Thomas College, Western New England College and Worcester State College. |
